The missions grow up as they do
Not a toy
For a grown-up and child, together

“The big feelings. The mental load. The standoff at the door at 8:02 a.m. No one can quite explain this part before you're in it.”

You are not behind. You are not doing it wrong.

The core idea

Every standoff is really two needs colliding.

All behavior is communication. Little Missions finds the need underneath and turns the standoff into something you do together — ending with a small moment to report back. Not a script to make anyone comply.

How a card works

Front. Flip.
Report back.

One side names the friction from where you're standing. The other hands the two of you something small to do about it.

01

The front

Your side of an ordinary standoff, in plain words. Shoes at the door. The bath. The third “in a minute.”

02

The flip

Turn it over and there's the need underneath, and one small mission for the grown-up and child to do together.

03

Report back

It ends with a moment to tell each other how it went. That's the whole ceremony. No chart, no sticker, no score.

The Needs Map

All behavior is communication — here's the decoder.

Every mission is tagged to the need underneath it. Read a row. Match the color. Grab a card. You don't have to work out what's going on first.

Connection

When they need to know you're still there.

Movement

When the feeling has to go somewhere.

Independence

When “I can do it myself” is the whole point.

Challenge

When they're reaching for something just past them.

Purpose

When they need the job to matter.

Calm

When everyone has had enough.

Grows with your child

It grows up as they do.

Seven age-staged decks, newborn through age 7. Each deck is built for what that stretch actually feels like — and the missions get longer, stranger and more capable as your child does.

134 missions in total.
The Companion

The book that says the rest of it.

A stage-by-stage guide that grows with your child — what's happening, what they need, and how to stay close. Seven chapters, one per stage, each matched to a need and its color.

“Your needs don't disappear — they just get loud last.”

What's not in the box

Missions run on ordinary things you already have:

  • Paper, crayons & stickers
  • Building blocks & plastic cups
  • Pillows, blankets & couch cushions
  • Stuffed animals
  • A cardboard box or empty tissue box
  • Painter's tape
  • Kitchen bits — pots, plates, a muffin tin
  • Soft balls, bean bags & a timer
  • Pom poms
  • Child-friendly paint and something to mix it in
Why we made this

I made this at my kitchen table, in the years I was home with small children and could not find a single thing that spoke to me instead of about my child. Everything on the shelf promised to fix them. I wanted something that would sit next to me at the hard part and hand me one small thing to try. So I wrote 134 of them. We're the generation breaking the cycle — raising our kids with connection instead of correction. I built this because I needed it.

Questions

The ones everybody asks.

Is this a toy?

No. It's for a grown-up and child to use together. Not a toy. Contains small paper parts.

Does this fit gentle / respectful / conscious parenting?

It was built inside that worldview. Connection over correction, co-regulation over control, and the belief that all behavior is communication. No timeouts, no sticker charts, no obedience promises.

What ages is it for?

Newborn through seven. The decks cover ages one to seven; the newborn stretch is held by the Village deck and the Companion's first chapter.

Do I need all seven decks?

No. The set is built to grow with your child, but any single deck stands on its own.

When does it ship?

We're pre-launch. Join the list and you'll have the date before it's public.

How is this different from a behavior chart?

A chart rewards compliance. A mission finds the need underneath and gives the two of you something to do about it, together. We don't promise your child will behave.

“It's not about making your child compliant… It's about the two of you, side by side, growing closer together as you complete the same tasks.”

Connection, not compliance.

For the cycle breakers, the gentle parents, the ones meeting the need beneath the big feelings — this is your toolkit. Join the founding families.
